Discussion>Looking for a Feminine pipe for the wife.
Bigd7400 10:33 AM 07-27-2012
Hey all,

So the wife is really looking to get into smoking a pipe and I would like to get her a nice FEMININE looking pipe for our anniversary. She likes natural finishes and anything that has nice accents (mother of pearl inlays and such) and a smallish pipe would be best IMO. At this point I'm kinda stumped so any opinions will be greatly appreciated.

I realize some of these are out of stock but I wanted to show you some shapes

A 03 shaped Peterson with the red Killarney finish sound like maybe something she would like the nickle bands add some subtle bling. The shape is rather small, I use mine for smoking 1792 http://pipesandcigars.com/pekipired03a.html

A couple more small light pipes

We have talked about a meerschaums but I'm kind of sceptical of her ability to not break one.

I like the Kilarneys pretty good and have looked at them quite a bit and I am keeping them in mind. I also have been looking at the Peterson Irish Seas collection with the green finish and green colored nickel bands as an option.

Thanks for the input guys and keep em coming cause this ain't easy by any means and all the suggestions are definitely helping!

If it's for your anniversary I think this would be appropriately inappropriate http://p2.la-img.com/1030/26468/9904856_1_x.jpg

or maybe that's inappropriately appropriate.

It's a lot harder picking out a pipe for someone else than it is for yourself I've come to discover much to my chagrin. Pipe makers know their audience and it seems that audience doesn't many of the fairer sex.

Look at L'Anatra pipes. Great pipes and she'll appreciate the uniqueness of their pipes.

I think we are going to try and stick with briar for her first pipe if for nothing other than durability issues(not saying my wife can be a klutz but....). Also the way I'm looking at this is that if she falls off the pipe wagon I have a new pipe! That pipe is cool thought, I didn't know they still made clay pipes.

He's got some beautiful pipes I must admit. Some of those pipes I think she would like but I think my limit is in the $250 range. Even so those are some dandies!

My wife has a smooth Savinelli Prince of Wales and enjoys smoking it from time to time... The longer 'fancy' stem cools the smoke & she also likes that it doesn't look like grandpa's pipe.

He is a pretty cool guy from the few words I have had with him on Instagram. You could always send him an email and see if he could do something in the 250$ range and then you could design it for your wife
