Sports>New York Mets 2013 Banter
Dave128 11:23 AM 03-28-2013
Enjoy the love of the game! We know it's going to be a struggle this season. No sense in over-analyzing the inevitable. All wins this season will be a great feeling.

I'm with ya Dave...for the love of the game is gonna be it this year. But sometimes it's so damn frustrating. :-) :-)

News has it that he's out for the season...again. Another high priced veteran free agent BUST for the Mets. Unless you count his no-hitter. :-)
Dave128 07:53 PM 03-29-2013
The no-no does count in my book.

Projected Opening Day Lineup...

1. CF: Jordany Valdespin
2. 2B: Daniel Murphy
3. 3B: David Wright
4. 1B: Ike Davis
5. RF: Marlon Byrd
6. LF: Lucas Duda
7. C: John Buck
8. SS: Ruben Tejada
9. SP: Jon Niese

My guess is 71 wins this year. :-)

I thought it would be Valdespin in right and Newenheis in center?

I believe Neuenweis is getting sent down...he's hitting like .089 this spring. I believe they will keep either Baxter or Coghill up for now. Seeing how they just purchased Byrds contract.

All I can say is...............Wow!

Thanks for throwing fire on the fuel Dom. :-)

Oh and for Jason Bay... :-) (5th outfielder??...what a friggin joke...can you say career over)
kelmac07 05:57 AM 04-01-2013
Mets are still in 1st place...at least for a few more hours!!! :-)
kelmac07 07:37 AM 04-01-2013
Mets are carrying SIX outfielders on the opening day roster. WTF???

Mike Baxter (minor leaguer)
Marlon Byrd (over the hill veteran)
Collin Cowgill (up n coming???)
Lucas Duda (verdict still out)
Kirk Nieuwenhuis (has not liven up to the hype)
Jordany Valdespin (could be the best of the lot...and he's truly an infielder)
kelmac07 03:20 PM 04-01-2013
Mets win the season opener against the Padres 11-2. Niese went 6.2 strong innings and the offense went crazy. Cowgill hits a Grand Slam in the 7th. Cowgill, Byrd, Murphy, Tejada, Buck and even Neise all had two hits...13 total for the team. Savoring this!! :-) :-)
Dave128 08:11 AM 04-02-2013
What an awesome game! Great for the morale. If only we could play the Padres every game!
Virginia_Ghost 03:48 PM 04-02-2013
HEY! Give 'em credit...They're undefeated, and tied for FIRST PLACE! Let's Go METS!
kelmac07 05:50 AM 04-04-2013
Mets win another...beating the Padres 8-4. Harvey looked great, going 7 innings, allowing one hit and striking out 10...and Duda hit another BOMB!! :-) :-) Hawkins in the 9th giving up 3 runs was what I expected from another over the hill veteran.
jonumberone 06:25 AM 04-04-2013
With the Yanks 0-2, and the Mets 2-0, for the first time in my life, I have nothing to say! :-)
kelmac07 06:26 AM 04-04-2013
And the Mets scoring 19 runs in two games...offense is rolling. Now we get to the back of the rotation...where things will get UGLY.
