All Cigar Discussion>What Is Your "Dream" Smoke?
kelmac07 11:02 AM 02-04-2019
What is the one stick you've always wanted to try, your "white whale"? Mine has been the 2005 Fuente BBMF Maduro that Scott & Adam gifted me last Christmas. One day, SOON, I will bring myself to smoke this.

Dunhill ERDM Seleccion Suprema No. 97 -- it is the best cigar I've ever smoked and would sell body parts to smoke more.

Close second is the original release Punch Super Finos Italian Regional.

I've smoked a few really amazing cigars, but it is hard to pick them out unless I know who I was smoking with. For example, one of the very best was a Dunhill ERDM Seleccion Suprema No. 97, but it was memorable because of who all was in Mr Nee's garage at the time. I shared a 1492 with two schmucks at some shack in Ohio when the 1492 that they had could not draw even after the drill was taken to it. That was pretty memorable.

As for a dream cigar, give me a Backwoods and 10 good friends who will share it with me and it will be a dream, I guarantee it.

If I had to pick one, though, it would be the 1960s Upmann Coronas gifted to me by an amazing brother 5-6 years ago. A 1970s Partagas Coronas held the spot until that cigar mysteriously found its way into my humidor after the first Smoked Salmon Herf. Strangely enough, almost all my recent 70s Partagas Coronas came from that same brother...

Like Mr. Mark and others, I smoked a lot of memorable cigars even more because of the company than any other factor. But my "dream cigar", based on the cigar alone (which isn't easy to do because it was gifted by and smoked in the company of a very close friend from the KC area)…..was a Partagas 777, I believe a Dunhill selection. 109 sized, it was by far the most complex cigar I ever smoked, changing every couple puffs...and with amazing flavors and depth. I don't even think they're in Min Ron Nee's book, but I know they exist(ed). :-)

I wouldnt know a dream cigar if it hit me in the face. Had a couple God of Fire a few years ago that was good. Sigsauer sent me several "island" cigars and most of them were quite good. Guess lm not an aficianado

LOL!!!! Is this why the Hog avoids HDM’s.

I think my dream cigar is all of the above!!!!! I can’t say as I’m as passionate for any cigar as the above posts but perhaps the Viaje Zombie original release? But I would forgo that for all of the above even the President Clinton HDM especial reserve. Does the cigar come with hanging out in the Oval Office smoking and joking? Now that would be memorable.

That's way up there for me, too. Everything about it, from the name (every part of it), the people I smoked it with, to the size, to the actual smoke itself, was incredibly memorable! (Thanks, Allan!)

I've been like others and just very fortunate and I feel it would be unfair to say there is one I haven't gotten to try since I've tried cigars that a lot of guys have never heard of, there are lots that I would love to have one all for me, but I just enjoy them more with my friends, but for my dream cigar, one more with our friend Peter.

I've been very fortunate to have slayed many of my white whales but one that has eleuded me is the "Bling Band" Sir Winston.

A Montecristo B would be my white whale smoke I guess. I'd also take a box of everything from my birth year ('80) just because.

Haven't had a dream cigar for years. At some point I realized that I have never had a 'coveted' cigar that I felt lived up to the hype....or more accurately, to the anticipation.
On the other hand, as described above, the company or situation can turn even more pedestrian cigars into memorable events.
