ANybody use these? I know I HATE inhaling bits of tobaccy, but it doesn't happen too much. Fearful that these would get stopped up and make smoking impossible.

depends on what you're packing in your pipe :-)

bump. So do you "sometimes" use a screen?

They're useless for smoking tobacco. I doubt you could finish one bowl.

Your crumb conundrum can be overcome by careful packing. Large pieces on the bottom, small bits on top.

I've smoked a pipe for twenty years and have never met another pipe smoker that uses them. I don't use them either, I might add. No offense to anyone, but they are drug paraphernalia.

Yes, I did some google work and discovered they are used mostly by bong smokers. Oopsy.

Does it happen that often to you that it would warrant getting a pipe screen, Hugh? You also may want to try kakes, flakes or ropes where there isn't as many small pieces of baccy to go through the stem.

Not that often, really. But when it does it's quite unpleasant. And these things are cheap! But, I did do some checking and it seems that very few pipers use them! I think I'll pass as well!

A filtered pipe might also work.

Screens are most typically used in 'glass' pipes...

I wouldn't use a screen personally, But they do have the metal Filters you can use.
