There is nothing more peaceful than sitting in the middle of the desert in the middle of the night and smoking a cigar. I challenge everyone to at least once get to the quietest place you can find away from any distractions and just reflect. It is an amazing experience.

That it is. I have done it in the Arizona desert.

It really is a beautiful thing. Sadly, I feel a good portion of my generation will never experience this.

Closest I've come was growing up, family would go out to Silver Lake Sand Dunes on the west coast of Michigan. I remember sitting on the dunes watching the stars for what seemed like hours. Man I need to do that again.

You can say that again.

The solitude of it really helps with getting your mind collected so you can focus again without the distractions

Exactly, like I said, sadly most of my generation will never experience this serenity.

Sometimes I sneak to the beach late at night find a quiet place and light up .... Love the sound of the waves, great experience

It's only illegal if they catch you :-)

I need to try this. I live around fields and fields of corn and Rolling hills. Plenty of places to get away.

I have grown up in the Rocky Mountain West Desert. Though I have spent a bit of time smoking cigars at night in the middle of nowhere....never by myself...

This is one of my favorite smoking experiences too, of course in the remote deserts of northern Nevada. I love each weekend night in the summer and fall I can sit out in the desert and enjoy a great cigar.

its far to get away from the city life out here but when the weather is good and im miles off shore on the boat the city is nothing but a blob on the horizon.

im never alone but have been a few times when me and my buddies just kick back with our cigars and dont speak a word for a while. it feels refreshing after to just let your mind wonder and clear itself.

Used to climb the Flatirons in Boulder at night and smoke. Doesn't get much more peaceful than that. :-)

The best place for me was after a 1 1/2 hour hike in Yosemite... :-)

Yep. Not in a desert, but in south texas on a random farm-to-market road. It has probably a 200ft elevation increase to the top of a hill. Dark as the inside of a cow out there. The stars are incredible along with the blow-off torches on the oil rig site dotting the landscape.

Same here, if you exchange "wisconsin" for "minnesota".

Or, my backyard. I live down a dead end road, 6 miles out of town (a small town of 10,000 people). My back deck looking at the lake and listening to the trees and wind is incredibly relaxing. In fact, I prefer it because I can have a drink or three.
