Just a few pics from going on a walk with Weeze on Wednesday night, and some words to go with...
This first one kind of speaks for itself. There were 8 Eastern Painted Turtles on this log, just getting some sun. I was shooting from too far away and tried to sneak up on them, but as soon as I thought about it, they took off. The turtle's shells are about 8 inches long, just to give you some reference size-wise.

This is just a goose, but I never saw a tag like that. I never saw it when I was shooting because, once again, I was too far away.

While I was on the bridge shooting the turtles, I showed a bunch of people as they walked by. The last was an old timer who could barely see them. He told me about the Bald Eagle that was rumored to be nesting on the point out back of the lake. He said he hadn't seen him yet despite looking every day.
Five minutes later Weeze came back from her run. As we walked back to the car, I was telling her about the eagle and looked up and it was right above me. Of course I'd turned my camera off, so this picture is of the bird a good mile away. You can still see what it is, though.
It went right where I thought it would, to the point behind where the old timer mentioned. I just remembered seeing where the nest was back last Fall or the Fall before.

That was all at Sunny Lake. It's a little lake right by the house here.
