All Cigar Discussion>Say Hello To My Little Friend
MTB996 05:37 PM 05-09-2009
Well, its been a few weeks since I rummaged through the Vinos, so I figured I'd take a closer look at some smokes and check for trespassers (I had some beetle issues a couple months ago).

Well, guess what I found....a bug that was going from larva to beetle. I brought my little friend to work to examine under the microscope and found the little sucker to be alive and kicking.

So after a quick photo shoot we ended his journey from Central America in an unfortunate way (for him anyways).

Enjoy the photos and videos.

Videos - I know they are pretty bad, but all I had was a phone camera to video the PC monitor of the scope....

Actually, wasn't a big deal, after I yanked him out I fired up the cigar at lunch and it was just fine. The home he made himself was actually pretty small, with very little actual cigar damage.

Very cool pics. That first pic of the gar was actually rather tasty looking. Would love to see some more pics of cigars with your camera.

Great pics! What stick is that? Oily wrapper.

Hate those bugs. None here yet. They better stay away.

Beauty. Still kind of curious what the dark hairy thing is. Too small to be an adult. :-)

Ahhh, great question. My Vino stays around 66-70. It has seen some excursions to the mid 70s for short periods of time, but its been pretty constant. My previous beetle issues have happened in my desktop, so I froze everything in the desktop. Now, I am freezing everything in the Vinos also just to be sure.
