Wine, Beer, and Spirits>Online alcohol purchases and home deliveries?
kzm007 02:14 AM 04-07-2009
Are there any well-stocked online sites in the US that deliver to your door?

What I'm asking specifically is for a wide selection with reasonable prices that would ship straight to an address. Our local liquor store is fairly small, and my grandfather is currently unable to get downtown to special order whatever the store doesn't carry. Being underage and without a license myself, I can't make the trip for him.

I thought that maybe a BOTL would have a cheap but varied website that they might use in lieu of a B&M purchase.

Let me state again that this is not for me, but for someone who is of age, and I do realize that proof of legality would be asked of whomever received the package.

Thanks guys.
Kegan

Liquor laws vary from state to state. Many states now allow direct shipment of wine to consumers(my business), but very few allow delivery of spirits or distilled alcohol. Check with the Alcoholic Beverage Control office in your state for specifics. :-)

There's plenty of places on line that ship booze. Some States are more difficult than others. Check Google and go from there.

Hightime is in CA so CA residents have to pay the confiscatory tax on any purchase.

May I recommend: http://www.wine-searcher.com/

You can do local searches as well as out of state. It gives the qualifications of each (min. order, etc). It's not only for wine. I have used it for Scotch quite often. You can find some great deals!

Gentlemen, I thank you. It looks like Hitime Wine is not a friend to the Pennsylvanian. Google it is I guess.

PA is not alone. MA, UT, TN do not allow alcohol shipments as well. NH is in the middle somewhere with too much paperwork and, thus, no shipments either.

Many in PA ship to an address in NJ.

Yes they do. NC and SC are bad, but not as bad as some states.

Not only that, but PA is going to spend $173,000 on manner training for its clerks - to make sure they say "hello" and "thank you".

They don't have too, though. What are you going to do, go somewhere else? Complain?:-)
