I'm not a fan of Hybrid vehicles, but I gotta admit that her new 2010 Honda Insight EX is pretty amazing. This thing is supposed to get like 40+ mpg IN city driving! Kind of neat & weird at the same time.
Takes a little getting used to the engine shutting off when stopped and then starting again before you take off again.
Im just glad this thing dosent look like the first Insights when the @ss end resembled an old 1970's Citroen SM.
The dash looks like a damn disco show though & pretty distracting to me
:-)
Any other Hybrid owners out there?
Her old 98 civic was ready to be retired for a while now, and she liked the Insight. Got a pretty good deal on it (I guess) too, so now its sitting in the driveway.
Its kind of growing on me the more I drive it. Maybe Im just getting old(er).
:-)

Congrtas on the new vehicle. The wife and I have been debating on a hybrid but more of an SUV though. We're up in the air about the Tahoe or the Escalade. To me it's still a GM vehicle.

I would love to have a new car, never had one. My wife wants a Ford Escape hybrid but it just doesn't fit in the budget right now, and I'm not much of a fan of hybrids or economy cars.
I like going green one cubic inch at a time.

I had a '69 Triumph Spitfire back in my youth that got 35 mpg. It had a 10 gallon tank an I would fill it every 300 miles. It was a terrible car. There is so much more than mileage to a car and they are so much better at making them now. Oh yeah.....
Nice review

I'm sure it's a fine vehicle Kelly but don't neglect the M.

Sigh. Whoever designed that dash layout needs a punch to the head.

It distracts me as well. Especially when it starts changing color from blue to green. No kidding.
:-)
Good news is I drove it to work today (63 mi one way) and got 44.6MPG

Bingo! Despite the mileage claims hybrid's are actually far more environmentally damaging than standard petrol and diesel vehicle simply due to the battery fabrication and disposal processes. Hybrid's are only a real presence in North American, the rest of the world continues on with diesel like it always has. This continent's aversion to diesel always confuses/disappoints me

Glad you like the car. I think I'd feel like I was in a video game with that dash.
