I repeat: where was the mourning period?
Post apocalyptic world and women are going to start looking for the ones to protect them the fastest. Mourning Shmourning, it's about survival then.

Excepting procreation, what exactly is "survival" about getting banged? :-)

just caught this thread.

Love the show, movie quality in a tv show.

The show evokes a very erie feeling. The first episode was amazing, no music, minimal surprises, just plain flate-out dispair. They do such a good job of portraying the hoplessness of the situation (them being alone, the last of the survivors).

When he climbed up into the tank I felt like i was there. I could understand his emotions. Such a great story/production team.

Great Show,
I have always loved these type of Apocalyptic Shows (Movies).
Just found it on-demand they seem to be a week behind with FIOS on putting on the new episodes.
Week Three Looks Great.

I can not get over episode 4! I was seriously riled up after I watched it! I have only read a few pages of the comic, but after seeing these episodes and knowing that I will have to wait for a year in two weeks for the next season, I might have to borrow them from my friend and read through them all!

FWIW, my better half thinks Merle somehow trucked the zombies up to the compound as payback. I'm not familair with the graphic novel, but boy there were a lot of zombies that attacked the camp.

I agree, I think Merle had something to do with that attack.
Merle is a very disturbed human being.
I can't wait for next week when the dead start to rise up again and they have to make a choice on what to do with the people who were bitten.:-)

All:

The series is not following the Graphic Novels. As an example, there is no Merle in the comics.

I won't give anymore away as some themes and small bits are caring through.

The series is GREAT and so are the comics....just different.

Four was easily the high point of the series thus far. A fantastic series even without this episode though!

There are similar events that cross between the comic and the show but if you've read the comic you'd know that some things just wouldn't be able to be shot and adjustments would be needed.

The Governor's storyline as an example is just way to disturbing for a TV show. It was borderline too disturbing for the comic!

I was happy to see a lot more character development this episode, Dale really came through to the front as he has been a bit in the background up until now. A lot of the comic series deals with trying to retain your humanity in a world that's so inhumane, I was glad to see that carry over into the show.

I didn't like last nights episode as much as others seem to.
Beginning- Awesome
Ending- Awesome
Middle - Meh

I could have done without the don't judge a book by its cover social message.
"We're not Spanish gang bangers, we hide out here helping the elderly"
Cliche'd scenes like this do nothing to advance the story and really only amount to filler.
You can get all the feel good moments you need from Rick and his creepy freckled looking kid with the Moe Howard hair cut.

I guess I like my ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE entertainment to be more negative, but I also like my Disney movies that way too.

I agree. The whole nursing home scene played out like a Family Channel thing and left too little time for the zombie attack on the camp. The heroes arriving just in time to save most of the camp was kinda silly as well.

Agreed. I was surprised at how much time was given to the whole nursing home thing. I would have rather seen more zombies getting shot etc.
