Why did I know this was started by a Canadian?

It's Harp and Guinness

p.s. No matter how you spell "Vaughan", you still live in Woodbridge.

I used to really enjoy Young's Double Chocolate Stout over New River pale ale....but then they quit making New River pale ale. I need to find a replacement for it...just haven't gotten around to it.

Guinness and Smithwicks .... imagine, putting a British beer or a lager in a black and tan ... blasphemy.

I enjoy a B&T with boddingtons when it's around.

Sometimes I just want a quick and easy B&T -

"Smiddicks" topped with Guinness, or Yuengling B&T when I'm in PA.

:-) There are suitable modifications, but a black and tan is bass and guinness. Period.

This is called a Half and Half I believe. I haven't experimented too much past the Black and Tan (Bass and Guinness) and a Half and Half. Doesn't mean I won't...just that I haven't! :-)

The top layer of a B&T is quite nice, until the nasty stuff on the bottom invades and contaminates the purity of the stout. Soon after it must be discarded or given to the dog.

"In the Republic of Ireland a Black and Tan is normally made from a half pint of Smithwick's topped off with Guinness"

from the wiki .. so it must be true <insert smiley here>

Course, Bass IS more typical, I'll admit, but Smithwicks has been hard to find in the States until recently.
