Accessory Discussion / Reviews>Best Butane Available In Canada???
PenguinsFan88 09:35 AM 05-10-2012
What is it???

I've searched and searched online but it appears that we can't get Xikar or Vector butane up here in the great white North due to it being unshippable across the boarder.

Is Colibri the only really "good" option?

I've been using Zippo. Can you guys get Zippo up there?

Yup I believe so.

Is it triple refined though?

I am a big fan of Vector if you can find a vendor who ships to Canada.

If Xigar lighters are sold in Canada, the fluid must be available somewhere.

What lighter fluids are available from your local cigar/tobacco shop?

In Timmins our 2 cigar shops are a joke. Minimal selection and employees who don't know squat.

I've only ever seen Ronson or Clipper fuel IIRC.

No clue. I just checked my can and it doesn't say.
After a couple seconds of Google, I found that Zippo is, in fact, triple refined.
I also found out there's 4x and 5x refined butane. Vector KGM Quintuplus Butane is 5x refined.

I haven't seen anything. In fact I'll be moving to Kitchener by October.

Any good smoke shops in Toronto that you or anybody reccomend I check out?

La Casa Del Habano you mean? Yup there's one of those.

Was also thinking of hitting up The Smokin' Cigar in Toronto as well as I would love to get my first humidor in the near future. Any of y'all ever go there? How are they in terms of knowledge, service, selection, etc.

The best I've seen (triple-refined) in Toronto is NIBO brand, found in various convenience stores.

1) Casablanca on King/Yonge: OK selection, decent prices, some with plume can be found.

2) Hinds near Bloor/Yonge: GREAT selection, decent prices.

What's your/their definition of decent prices? I'm pretty poor so I only buy single cigars every now and then. I don't even own a humidor yet. Most I've ever spent on a stick so far was $25.00

And what's your opinion on that shop known as "The Smokin' Cigar"? Was thinking of doing business with them. Either online or in person.

Colibri 3x filtered is pretty much your only option. I have no trouble with the fuel and have been using canister after canister for years now :-)
