I've asked this question in a few different crowds, and am interested in the take from the CA crew.
What do you consider your ultimate, special occasion cigar?
I'm getting married in a week (April 28th) and have been trying to decide what the perfect celebratory smoke is. I've been doing some tasting, trying some new brands, but haven't found "that" cigar yet.
I'm iffy on smoking something I haven't smoked before, in the event that I hate it, but have a backup smoke in that event, but I like the idea of this one being something I may never get my hands on again. I've mostly only smoked NC, and obviously only have access to such. I got my hands on a GoF from a brother not long ago, and right now it's my frontrunner.
While I am looking for suggestions, I also thought this might be a good chance for discussion, and to see what everyones perfect smoke would be.

I smoked an Arturo Fuente Anejo with Shilala which just blew me away. Best smoke I've had hands down!

You are getting married the same day as Tony (issues). Congrats brother. I have seen a number of people use the Padron 64 as a special cigar. I like them.

Hard to go wrong with a PAM 64, if you can get your hands on a No.45 that'd be a pretty safe choice for a great celebratory smoke

This is risky as a new guy, but I must respectfully disagree, sir.
:-)
I've just grown away from Gurkha. I smoked them years ago, and loved them, but I guess my tastes have changed. I also think Gurkha puts a lot of hype around an average/good cigar that isn't necessary.

MiB forgot to put up his sarcasm sign along with his post so the slow kids could follow too.

As a new guy to this board I doubt James has seen the strong hatred that everyone has for Gurkha's. I'm sure I would have took him as being serious if I was new.
:-)
I would have to say an Anejo or a Liga Privada FFP.

Whatever you smoke on that special day will be "that" cigar.
