I read a lot of reviews, supposedly the book had a lot of hype, but many readers felt let down. I only heard about it from a coworker recently so I didn't hear all the hype.
I'm only a quarter of the way through the first book but I find I can't put it down. I'm not a big reader so that is saying something. I like fantasy books and so far this one is really good.

Fantasy is all I read really. You should check out Steven Erickson's Malazan: Book of the Fallen series.

I started really reading Ender's game on Friday. I just finished it up - under 48 hours from start to finish :-). It was a REALLY awesome book - I'm gonna start up Speaker for the Dead now

Right on! I'm really looking forward to reading the rest of the series. Then I think I'm going to go back and re-read Lord of the Rings. I haven't read them in nearly 10 years - the details are rreeaall fuzzy.

I'm not a big reader at all, but I just got a Security Job at a Childrens Hospital from 2300 to 0800... So I grabbed this off my bookshelf, Marine Sniper.

Story of the Marines best Sniper. 93 confirmed kills in Vietnam.

Fantastic book.

Just finished microcosm: E. coli and the New Science of Life
by Carl Zimmer
Excellent read by a gifted science writer. Discusses many issues of microbiology/genetics and relates it to general biology. The book focuses specifically on E Coli and the many biological discoveries that have resulted from its study. Anyone with an amatuer interest in biology might like the author's blog
