What they may lack in beauty they more than make up for in satisfying flavor. Spicy, rich and delicious, they are named in honor of one of El Jefe’s favorite foods: French Fries!

Although “tripa corta” means “short filler”, these coronas are unlike any “sandwich” cigar ever created. All of the tobacco trimmings are individually hand sorted back into their original leaf variety and thickness, hand cut to be uniform in size and then are hand blended cigar by cigar to ensure consistency in flavor and aroma
I'm normally all for LPs, but really now? I know I'll try some, but I'm extremely doubtful they'll be any good at all, tbh. I know they use great tobacco, but I have a hard time believing and shortfiller stick is worth the $6 price tag.

:-)

I'll roll the dice for $6.

I understand your hesitation, but these are really quite good...Great size, great flavor, and great construction on the ones I have smoked so far...

Give it a shot :-)

I'd love to try them (I love all the LP Series), but I'm sure you will have to go on a wild goose chase to find them. Not worth the hassle. :-)

I will be trying a couple, and if they do actually turn out to be good it'll be interesting to see whether they go the way of the Undercrown after the initial run. Aside from the Corona Vivas, I haven't liked a single Undercrown from the later shipments, they've been noticeably different(went from extremely oily wrappers with great flavor to rough, almost sickly looking comparatively, wrappers with little to no flavor).

I love the size of this stick, much better than the dumb fat pigs IMO.
The price is good for an LP but not for a standard short filler, Brooks says it tastes good though. Sounds like a better option than paying twice the amount for one of their long fillers.
I think it is a good concept, might draw a few people into the LP stuff that have been hesitant due to prices being soo high.

I don't think I will try them but I hope they are good, I have always thought highly of the LP stuff.

I'll certainly try them.

Reminds me of much the same conversation about the LGC Perritos, which is a nice little cheroot.

Nothing wrong with a short filler stick. I personally find the Benchmades to be a very good stick although they only tend to top at at the $4 mark.
I love what Drew Estate has been doing with their non flavored tobaccos but $6 for a mixed filler Corona-ish sized cigar is a little steep on paper but if it smokes really good than the price point will probably become moot. Hell the Dirty Rat is just about the same size but retails for $12 and I never wince about paying that for them as the stick is just that good. I guess time will tell if a short filler Corona can sustain a $6 price point. My guess is that it will do just fine and will sell out with the quickness.

How short does the filler have to be on a 4 1/2" stick to be called a short filler stick. I mean are they using pieces shorter than 4 1/2 inches long? :-)

Haha, I thought it meant Daddy's Cold.....figured it meant a spicy cigar to make you sweat in the winter or something.

To make a long filler cigar 4-1/2" in length you need filler tobacco that is about 6"-1/2" in length because part of it gets trimmed off in process.

Additionally, you can only get so many cuts out of a leaf, so you can get some odd sized leftovers. Sometimes wide shapes that aren't long, other times very long, but very narrow, or just weird shaped that would be hard to work with. There's not much you can do with them other than to chop them up for short filler.

$6 for a Liga Privada blend? Yeah, I'll play at least once!

IKR Shane! *lol* Guy sounds like he just fell off a meat truck! Maybe its just
me, but this is worse than the 'Baitfish ordeal'. I bought and quickly sold my
bundle once i got to thinking about it. I really didn't think they were going to
be that good, but they just needed some rest. I still wasn't overly happy
about the 6.00 price for those and that was long filler.

Pepin's Tabacos Baez SF sells for 2-3 bucks for the robusto and toro's.
He also does Benchmade for Ashton, and they're probably 1-1.50 to $2.00
higher depending on the vitola.

I know for a fact that you can smoke a SF stick and enjoy it, but Geez
Louise DE! $6.00 for a petit corona? I'm an LP Fan too btw... Certain sticks
i'll gladly pay the money for, this is not one of them.

Excel, totally agree about the Baez SF! Great cigars for the price!

Not sure if the Papas will be 2x better than those.. We will see.

I forgot all about the Beaz SF. Like you said a very good stick at a minimal cost. Should be interesting to see how well the Papas does at the $6 price point but as mentioned earlier, it's a DE stick so my guess is sales will be strong and it will be a tough find like a lot of the Liga/Unico line.
