It's usually around $16. If you have never had it, I would bite the bullet because it's really a world class double IPA. You will thank me:-)

Stone Double Bastard.
Good, but I prefer Ruination, or any number of other double IPAs....

Double Bastard is an American Strong Ale.. It's going to be much more malty and sweet than a DIPA. It's very hoppy though, and I can see how people would think it's an DIPA.

yeah - thought they had called it a DIPA on the label but apparently I've been looking at too many different labels today :-)

Anyhow, point is it's perfectly good but there are plenty of others I'd go for instead...

I feel ya. Just didn't want you to judge Double Bastard as a DIPA:-)

And I agree, it's a good beer, but way over hyped for what it is.

Just cracked open my first Ale Asylum Ballistic IPA.
Not as hoppy as I expected. (Don't know why I expected a hop monster but I did)
Lots of great flavors. Very well balanced. Getting the hops on the finish.

Very nice, indeed.

One day I will get to see what all the buzz is about.

Yesterday, I had me some Callahans Choco-latte porter from San Diego Brewing. Made locally for their two restaurants. Not distributed outside the establishments except for growlers. I believe it is ~8%. Like a Hershey bar in a glass.

Chances are it won't be there when you go back, but I'd do it, Jamie.:-)

Cracked last years release of Founders Imperial Stout. Aging nicely thus far, although reports on another forum say 3-5 years on this beer is mind blowing..
