BigBruce 11:40 AM 02-02-2012
Just wanted to let you guys know I'll be heading to Korea in October. I'll either be in Camp Humphreys or K-16. Any one ever been over there. Been looking online to try to figure out what to take. :-)

5 times I think we a winner or loser :-) My biggest question is what should I take. Of course I will have what little ta50 I have and uniforms but what about a laptop. Should I get a new one before i go over there are just wait till I get there. Also I can ship 500 lbs and a car. I've decided I don't want a car over there and if I do I will buy a beater. Question is what else do I need to ship with 500lbs?

IF you like BBQ you are going to love the food. Also get out and explore the veggies, they are masters of pickling things and most of them taste great no matter how they look. Have fun and stay safe.

I'm non command sponsored and doing a 1 year hardship tour. I love korean food so at least I know that will be good. :-)

Kick ass brother, I am really excited for you I think if you get off the base during your down time and explore the country it will be a great experience.

In that case...basic houseware items (dishes, pots and pans, etc), clothes...since you will be grabbing an apartment...you're gonna need some furniture (some places rent fully furnished apts). Electronics are cheap there, so don't sweat bringing all your good stuff (plus they might break it in shipping). Can pick up a "hoopty"/beater car for like $ 300. Korean BBQ is the shiznit!! :-) :-)

Camp Humphyrey's wasn't too bad the one time I got to visit. :-) I once tied on a doozy of a drunk there, but aside from that it was good. Have you been to the ROK before?
