All Cigar Discussion>Cigar Smoking in Nevada Casinos

So are there any issues with sitting in the casino bars, sports book and gaming areas and having a cigar?

I am going to be spending some time in Mesquite and possibly Vegas shortly. Getting away from the cold and actually having a cigar in a climate controlled environment has me like a kid waiting for Christmas....

Hell, I am even excited to sit in 65F weather and to enjoy a cigar or 20....

No, not to my knowledge. I was actually sitting in the sports book over at Peppermill (Reno) a couple months back and had 2 cigars. A fella next to me had a cigar as well.

I have heard the sports books are the best places to have a cigar. At the tables you have to pay attention to your bets, but at the SB you place a bet sit back and relax and enjoy the game. :-)

Living in Vegas, I can tell you it varies from house to house. There are areas amongst the banks of slot machines and a few tables here and there that do not allow it. However, any gaming floor that does not have food service is free game for cigar smoking. The one thing the table games ask, it is not a written rule, but should you sit at a table where others are not smoking, ask those existing players if it would bother them...do it purely out of courtesy...99% of the time, no one will care. As far as buying cigars in casinos...be ready for a raping....there are a few better off strip B&Ms that will not only kill those rapetacular prices....any other questions, just ask....

Ozzie Guillen is a hero of mine...mainly because of his commentary during the 2009 World Series...the quote was along the lines of rewriting the bible...God is Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera is the Lord and Savior, and the holy ghost is held by Alexander Rodriguez in his bat....

Think I will take more than I would ever smoke... Better to bring stuff home, than be searching for what I don't have....

But if we make it to Vegas(the ladies are going for sure), I will try to make it to Case Fuente....maybe Pheasant just because of the other thread, it appears that I would be remiss if I didn't go....

I would just look for signs. I know all of the poker rooms are none smoking. I think one or two of the sports books are now none smoking as well. I think I saw a sign or two in a couple of the sports books.

Occasionally you will find a area of tables that are none smoking as well.

Casa Fuente is the way to go.

I was in Vegas last summer. Smoked like an animal everywhere!

cigar smoking is one of the reasons I go to Vegas. By the pool, in the casino playing blackjack, at casa fuente and walking the strip. All why puffing on cigars. Love it down there.

I just got back from the South Point at the end of the strip. We met some friends for dinner, then spent a couple of hours in the casino.

My buddy had one cigar, I had two. The only problem was he won, I didn't. :-)

Odd number of cigars must be lucky.

As others said, go for it. I treated smoking in vegas with a "they'll have to tell me not to" attitude, and I was never asked to stop smoking.

Lighting up in the middle of a casino floor has magic to it for some reason.

Vegas is probably one of the last few strongholds for cigar smokers. Like was said before, out of courtesy if you are at a table, just ask. That being said, smoke nazis are there and will look at you as though you are killing a small animal in front of them. As soon as they see you don't care, they move on.

You do get lots of, "oh my god, that stinks!" I simply look them square in the eye, puff away, and smile. They leave quickly. It's a good way to clear a bank of machines of the non-smokers too. heh heh I'm out there quite a bit on business, so i get to test out different theories that I have.

What this man said. However I did receive clarification from some of the "officials" when I was last down there. Gaming floors are fair game. Corridors and hallways are off limits. However, it is VERY loosely enforced.

Thread Jack Question- Any good bars in the Bellagio for cigar smoking? Staying at the Bellagio this coming weekend, and I am looking for a nice bar to sit and have some drinks with friends on Friday night. Would love a place that is cigar friendly.
