So I was on Craigslist earlier and I saw something that seems a bit too good to be true, for Hawaii at least.

http://honolulu.craigslist.org/oah/for/2846649207.html

I want to go by and take a look at it, can I get some tips on what to look out for, other than funky smells and obvious damage?

I would gently squish the cigars to see if they're dried out, check for mold and beetle holes, etc.

I'll definitely be checking the cigars, I'm mostly interested in the Humidor though. A humidor full of cigars for 80 bucks kind of tells me they've been neglected in a garage or something. I can't see someone selling this setup that cheap unless maybe their doctor told them to stop smoking or they just discovered it in an attic. Could be wrong though.

That humidor looks like my Bally glasstop, which I got for around $60. The picture is very bad, but it does look like there is a hydrated drymistat tube in there. Might be worth checking out for the cigars.

Edit: After looking again it might be a tubos. It's hard to see really. Maybe find out what cigars are in there first.

Looks like they have 2 humidifiers in there, should be alright if they kept them and didn't neglect them.

Less expensive glasstop humidors are notorious for leaks, that might be a decent one, hard to tell from the pics.

If the cigars are shot, that humidor certainly isn't worth $80, I would move along if the cigars show signs of neglect. He could have put those humidifiers in there recently or for the pictures.

It is probably a wife selling her husband's cigars because of an argument haha

I live in maui, the current humidity in my house is 67 percent, I used a humidor without humidification for years. It looks like a good deal, but not unbelievable. Sometimes people give up smoking for various reasons, its worth checking out.

Just ask to see it. I got my current humi off craigslist awhile back, got it for $60 with 20 Perdomo Frescos that had been kept in decent shape, haven't had any problems from the humi or the cigars(which I still have a few left of)
