Accessory Discussion / Reviews>Pulled the trigger... Can't wait for my new humidor!

Well, I'm incredibly stoked... I pulled the trigger and my 50% down payment has been sent. I'm officially on the list to own my very own waxingmoon humidor! There will be no more worrying about lids falling off of my humidors. I opted for a 19.5" x 15.5" x 14" humidor made out of quilted maple and walnut. Ed at waxingmoon wrote that this comes in at a 997 count humi (in Toro size) :-):-).

I sent Ed some diagrams for what I wanted in my humidor. It's an awesome experience being able to create your own design and have a work of art constructed just as you want it. This first diagram shows my future humidor from the top down. I specifically wanted the 7.5" and 6.5" cross dividers to accommodate churchill and toro size sticks in the bottom. The trays will be around 3" deep so I should be able to store massive amounts of robusto/corona size cigars in them.

This second diagram shows my design looking at the humidor from the front. I asked for it this way so I will only have to move one of the top 1/2 trays and be able reach in and grab the beads for recharging. I'll lose a bit of storage space to have the open space above the beads but it'll be nice to have the ease of use for bead recharging. Also, I don't think I'm going to have a problem with too little storage... at least for a little while :-).

Ed said that build time is approximately three weeks but that it might take awhile to procure the quilted maple. I'm a patient person but I feel like a kid counting down the days until Christmas!

Nice.

I am in the same boat waiting to see what he produces for me. My wife contacted him and told him what I was looking at as far as his pst work and gave him a count that I wanted to hold.

I know we will love what he comes up with for both of us.

Thanks for sharing in my excitement guys! Ed seems to make the whole process fun by posting updates on his humidors here and on other sites. I'm excited to see my creation in it's infancy... how many people get to see their humidors come to life through picture updates?
