The best I've had was in Key West at Jose's Cantina. Cheese Burger In Paradise (Jimmy Buffett/Outback Steakhouse) makes a good one also.

Having been born and raised in South Miami I have had many Cuban sandwiches
and they all rock, but the best I have had in recent years is served at The Star Liner Diner here in Hillard Ohio.

The real Cuban sandwiches can ONLY be found in the small cafeterias down here! :-)

My favorite one in this area comes from La Ideal on Tampa Bay Blvd. I think theirs is the best around.
Plenty of good ones to found though, for sure.

You all are making me homesick. We always went to the shop out on Buffalo (MLKj) past 56st street, Man, those were the best. But La Ideal was great also.

A cuban bread vendor once told me that the secret was using lard as the shortening.
