All Cigar Discussion>What are some mild but flavorful sticks?
Chingo 12:42 AM 05-17-2010
Had an Oliva V the other night and wasn't really impressed. Aside from that, it also knocked me on my butt for the night. I know, I'm weak :-). I also don't smoke much. While I still love the Special G's, I think I'm going to stick to the milder cigars for now.

I like Fuente Hemmingways. I had a CAO Gold and it was pretty boring, not much flavor. The Macanudo I tried however (gold tube, don't remember the line), was quite tasty. Based on this, what do you think I should try next?

Devil's weed is the first mild yet full flavored stick that comes to mind.

I haven't found too many mild smokes that I find flavorful. 5 Vegas Gold, CAO Gold, Cu-Avana, and RP Connie's aren't too shabby. Give me a maddie anyday.

Cusano Double 18 and Perdomo Champagne are both good.

As for myself, and I'm sure some folks may disagree, I like Don Diegos and they come in a huge variety of vitolas.

Try to get your hands on some maduros. The Special G maduro is pretty tasty.

For CCs Id recommend Por Larranaga and La Gloria Cubana.

I'm in your profile, although I do like the Oliva V, only the figurado version for some reason doesn't kill me with the nic. The following cigars based on your post may be in your profile and are mild to medium depending on individual tastes.

NC
mild in no real order
AF WOAM
Oliva Master Blends 1, 2, 3 with 1 and 3 being the best
H. Uppman Vintage Cameroon rubusto (gets a bit boring longer than a rubusto)
Oliva G either N or M (again, I like the shorter versions over a churchill)
Sol Cubano Artisan
Padron 64 series

medium? in no real order
AF Chateau Fuente King B
AF Chateau Fuente Queen B
AF Rosado
RP Sumatra (discontinued but still around)
Punch Gran Puro Libertad

CC
Trini Coloniales
EDRM Choix

Again, they work for me. Have fun sampling.

Hmm Monte White - super mild with great flavors, I had forgotten about this one. A bit more than I care to spend on a daily smoke. It may be time to get a pair from the B&M.

+1. The Cusano 18 is the cigar that shoved me down the slope...

Another CC suggestion: HdM Epi 2.

It's is interesting how tastes vary... I never thought of AF WAOMs or Padron 64's as particularly mild. I would call them medium or medium to full; the WOAM in particular has a lot of nicotine. They are very nice cigars though!

It's been too long since I have had a mild cigar and I can't think of any... :-)

I'd actually suggest the Classic. It's probably more of a mild-medium, but the Gold was like sucking on a straw, IMO.

I like the Casa Torano for a mild smoke, in the nat and maduro wrapper
