Accessory Discussion / Reviews>Edge star28 or vino28 drawer configuration
chris66 04:33 PM 05-01-2010
Hey guys. I just ordered an edgestar 28 and cant decide on a drawer configuration. I emailed chuck and he said that it will take 12 single/ 6 doubles or any combination of the two.

I know there are quite a few out there with chuck's drawers. What i'm looking for is feed back on what you guys have or What changes you would make If any

What I'm thinking is 4 doubles and 4 singles.

I have 3 doubles - 1 single and 2 of Chucks shelves and I am very satisfied with the set-up. If I did any different it might be 4 doubles and 1 shelf. :-)

For me it would depend on what you have/think you will have. I don't have many singles, so I would go with one drawer. I would buy one shelf and stack all of my boxes on it.

I have 3 shelves in my vino, and I have a 100ct desktop that I keep my singles in

This edgestar will be for drawers. i will order another one for boxes and stack the two.. what i'm hoping for is to be able to get a box of 25 in a single and 2 boxes of 25 in a double

It varies widely with cigar size but a double will hold far more than 2X what a single holds. From experience I would get no more than 1 single but it is all about personal pereference. Whatever you get from Chuck you will be happy!:-)

I have 6 doubles in mine, originally I went w/ 4 doubles one single and a shelf but couldnt fit what I wanted in there. The 6 doubles worked out very nicely.

Thanks capt and twenty. Thats the type of info I was looking for.

So the consensus seems to be that the double drawers are the way to go then.

How many cigars will each double hold. lets use a 6x50 as reference.

I bought a bunch of doubles and single drawers from Chuck for my Vino........I only use a double now for my singles collection

Here are some pics, most of the cigars went back into their boxes :-)

Ok guys just pulled the trigger on chucks drawers. I went with 5 doubles and a single in a rosewood stain.

Very cool, did you go with the slotted trays or solid and a glass top?

I'm so close to ordering but don't know if I should get the slotted for proper air circulation or the solid with glass so the cigars are impacted less from the opening of the wineador.

What does everyone recommend?

I'm on the fence with this question too. I'm leaning toward glass top, but would welcome any advice as well.

Not to hijack the thread for my needs, but it seems the responses so far are not overwhelming in favor of one or the other. I'll start a new thread probably. EDIT: I found this thread which gives great insight: http://www.cigarasylum.com/vb/showthread.php?t=29993

Thanks all!

Good question? i didnt have that option on chucks website. I am guessing it will be the solid bottom with glass top for the stained drawers.
