Coffee Discussion>COFFEEs and CIGARS. I need COFFEE

Tonight I pulled a ROCKY PATEL SUN GROWN ROBUSTO, review is here

There was something lacking with this smoke...As I thought and thought about the flavor of the smoke all I could think about was COFFEE.
I just know that this stick NEEDS coffee to accompany it so the stick can be complete.

As I'm thinking of what kind of coffee it occurs to me that I don't KNOW COFFEE AT ALL.
Coffee that I drink is man made flavored HAZELNUT coffee with LOTS of sugar and HAZELNUT cream from WAWA.
This isn't coffee! It is some sort of abomination to the taste buds.

I'll be reviewing...NO! STUDYING! the various posts chock full of info on COFFEE...preparation, types, presentation...of COFFEE.
I'll be going down the path searching for the PRESS????OR the MOKOPOT???? as the means to fulfilling my need for COFFEE.

I am man enough to show what passes for my COFFEE EQUIPMENT.
I know that the EXPERIENCED COFFEE folk will say that I need to start from scratch with my coffees and equipment to create the coffee.

Mr Coffee Maker, Hazelnut flavored coffee, measuring ladle, coffee from the freezer. (Storage in the freezer? I dunno.) Whirleybird grinder...I know! I know!..a BURR GRINDER...sigh...
Coffee PRESS? or/and a Bialli??? MOKOPOT???
Image

I know there are BOTLs out here who have the experience of making different types and methods of creating the coffee. I will be searching for you...Mr Moo....and others...who have posted their experiences with COFFEE.
A WHOLE NEW WORLD AWAITS ME...

I nubbed the RPSGR

Tom

And so it begins...a PATH to COFFEE and the many varieties and tastes/textures that COFFEE has to offer.

(chock full of info...all pun intended)
hahahahahahaha

um...those beans weren't roasted by yourself or a botb? WTF?? DUDE...:-)

I hear ya though, a good coffee, or abomination rocks with some cigars. Currently I'm working on pairing some apple cider to cigars...not an easy task :-) but I'm up for it.

If you can try a San CristobalSAN CRISTOBAL El Principe or La Flor Dbl Ligero Chisel Gordo. I had both of these with freshly roasted coffee, less than a week old. You can find this at whole foods stores and other places that have "organic" foods...though I don't agree with the organic name, it's good and fresh.

The first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem. :-)

Coffee is a ritual for me. There is not a SINGLE day that goes by where I don't have any coffee... Usually a pot a day or so, but I can stop anytime I want :-)

Coffee taste, like cigars, are a matter of personal likes and dislikes. And it doesn't have to be fresh, hand roasted in your home or cost of $10 a lb to taste good. It just depends on what you like.

I live in Louisiana but I hate anything that has chicory in it. My favorite "store brand" is the Eight O'Clock 100% Colombian beans that I grind at home. I also like the Luzianne Medium Roast that is roasted here in Louisiana.

And I like it strong and black. No sugar.

:-) Fixed.

I agree though with pappy, some will like the flavored cigars, some will only like cubans, and others only like honduran, so it's up to your tastes what you like.

HEY! I never said anything about how I like my women! I prefer them sweet and creamy.

If that were a picture it'd be just begging to be photoshopped.

Every Morning I smoke a Cigar With a Vanilla Soy Latte I make using espresso coffee i get from trader joes called D'Aquino imported from Italy. (great nutty tasting espresso)

I make it with my Delongi espresso machine (cheap but does the job) I personally cant stand drip coffee IDK I'm an espresso or Tea guy. Try that coffee if your looking for some good cheap coffee it comes in a 16 oz can and costs about 6 bucks great deal for Italian espresso. My daily late costs about a buck each and at Starbucks no only does it taste worse it costs 5 bucks. The coffee is also good if your not an espresso drinker if you find it try it out! If you are going to buy an espresso machine (i don't think you are but just in case shoot me a pm and ill help you out rather than posting a novel)

D&D coffee and a nice smoke do it for me but I haven't hit the coffee slope so I'm not a bean snob yet. :-)

Give Trader Joe's a try. I'm a fan of the Bay Blend myself, but they have quite a few different blends.

I love great coffee later in the day, but in the morning I dont care, I just need it fast and lots of it. Living here in the coffee capital of the US, you should see the looks I get when people come to my house and see a can of folgers.

I do use one a macchinetta (stove top espresso maker) and grind the beans in the evenings. Great with a smoke :-)
