Dunhill Signed Range Corona. The Dunhill name is an institute in the tobacco industry. And it all comes from the decision of Alfred Dunhill to open a tobacco shop in London in 1907. With a growing demand for cigars, he decided to create his own brand. And in the 1930s, the Cuban made Dunhill cigars came to the market. Slowly the company grew to a whole range of cigars, cigarettes, pipe tobacco and pipes. In the years, the Dunhill name was bought and sold by several companies.

Currently, British American Tobacco is the owner of the Dunhill brand. And they are discontinuing the pipe tobaccos and the cigars.

General Cigars made this range for BAT, in their factory in Esteli, Nicaragua. The Signed Range was originally a Dominican made cigar. In 2014, the production moved to Nicaragua and the cigar was reblended. The wrapper comes from Nicaragua. The binder is Cameroon. And the filler is a mix of Nicaraguan and Dominican tobaccos.

THE REVIEW

The cigar has a boring looking ring, old and in dire need of an upgrade. This ring does not appeal to younger cigar smokers at all. The cigar has a nice triple cap but the feet is cut at an angle. The cigar won’t stand up straight. The construction feels good. The aroma is strong. It has a barnyard with some musty hay smell.

The cold draw is great. There is a fruity citrus acidity along with nutmeg and cardamom. Once lit, that combination shines through with a little added pepper. The cigar starts pleasant but mild. After a few puffs, the flavors change to leather, nuts, nutmeg, and a little citrus. There’s a hint of vanilla on the back of the palate. The flavors are mild and taste dusty. After an inch, there is more leather and more spice. The mouthfeel is dry. The second third starts with leather, hay, and some pepper. At the halfway point, there is toast with leather, dried leaves, and some sweetness. The final third starts with grass, hay, and pepper. The finale has some nuts and pepper

.

The draw is great, the burn is good and the smoke is medium thick and full. The light-colored ash is flaky but firm. This is a medium bodied cigar, mild to medium flavored but there is evolution and the cigar does grow in strength. The smoke time is two hours and thirty minutes

Strength: medium
Flavor: mild to medium
