Hi All,

I know theres many questions about this and I have search but...

Heres my problem, I bought a madelaine hygro, salt tested it, 24hrs 47% :-)
Put another Hydro with it 12hrs, madelaine 48%, other 36% :-)
Changed the battery salt tested, Madelaine 24hrs 59% and has been that way for 48hrs. :-)
Can I just keep this hygro and do the math?(Idon`t mind doing the math) :-)or the difference is to large and I should change it? :-)

You can do the math but isn't that adjustable? You do the salt test for however many hours then push the button in for like 3 seconds and it automatically adjusts to 75%? Just push the button in the bag so you don't lose some humidity by opening the bag.

Do you have a good seal on your bag or tupperware when doing the salt test? I use a medium sized tupperware container and then throw that into a gallon or two gallon sized ziploc bag to ensure none of the humidity leaks out. :-)

Take a very damp washcloth and wrap it around the hygrometer. Within an hour it should be reading above 95%, if not you got a problem and I would advise replacement. You can get one of the cheap WalMart hygros for as little as $7-8 or an adjustable one for about $25.

You sure you are doing that salt test right? How much water are you mixing with the salt? Should make a thick paste
