If it's a style you really like, it would be worth a closer look.
$75 sounds decent if it's an antique and they didn't screw up the refinishing, which can't be determined from the CL photos.

As a conversation piece, maybe...don't forget to add gasoline costs to the total cost.

It looks like it could be a pretty cool cabinet but like T.G. stated you would need to take
a closer look at it. If it's in good shape it would be worth $75 to me.

Forgot about that. My F-150 gets about 11mpg. Maybe I can get the guy to bring it to me.

Gretna??? There's a Gretna Nebaska? I thought there was only the one, lol.
:-)
As we have learned in another recent thread, that is NOT copper. And they are NOT
valuable as something to go out and get, usually as something your family has and
you now have to keep.
:-) But they are cool, there is no doubt. Look for the other
thread about these things on this page and be enlightened.

I'd think it is, it looks like a neat piece. Of course in the end, it's up to you.

I would guess from the pics that it is a mass-produced piece from the 40's - 50's. My grandpa had something similar for his pipes and tobacco. It's worth $75 if you like it.

Nevermind, the wife just said she thought it was ugly.

Another thing to consider is that the thing looks way too good for it's age. If they refinished it then it looses it's value.

How good is copper when it comes to regulating humidity?

Before spanish cedar was used, glass, copper, and brass was used. Not all that effective. The thing that you really have to worry about is the seal. Thats why if you have a good seal and something that is self-regulating like beads or Boveda packs you can use something that isnt lined with cedar like a coolidor. BTW, Spanish helps to regulate humidity.

X 2
Guy lists it for $75 on Craigslist, he'll take $50.... Costs you $30 for the drive, assuming you don't take something other than the 11MPG F150....(UGH
:-))....
Of course the pic doesn't give a true representation, but I'd probably pay $80 for that....
