All Cigar Discussion>So this puzzled me...
Sonic04GT 10:30 PM 03-05-2012
I met a buddy at the local Starbucks last week to finish up a school project. There just so happened to be a cigar shop next door so I recommended grabbing a couple sticks while we sat outside and worked. He smokes cigarettes but said he has smoked an occasional cigar before.

Anyway...About a 1/3 of the way through the stick, he put it down and lit up a cigarette. Then started smoking the cigar again after.

Needed his nicotine. Cigarettes deliver much more, and more quickly.

After being a cigarette smoker for a few years I'm sure he wanted to inhale something. I had the need to do that a few times as well.

Sounds like a bad way to ruin a good cigar.

Not strange if one is addicted to a large amount of nicotine from cigarettes all day.

Or purely habit.

I personally see no connection to enjoying cigars and smoking cigarettes.

I have to agree with this. I quit cigerettes after 25 or 30 years, once in awhile I'd get a cigar. As soon as I put the cigar out I would have to have a cig. to feel satisfied.

Think of a cigarette as a syringe and a cigar as an IV drip.

I did this too. Quick delivery of nicotine even after a cigar was normal for me.

Oh well. Different strokes, right? You still had a good time and got that work done, right? :-)

Understandable, especially if he was smoking a Gurkha

I used to do the exact same thing.. smoke an LFDDL and still need a cig right afterwards, like Tom said that's addiction talking. Not just better nicotine delivery but also the mental aspect of the smoking habit itself.

I chew snuff and smoke a cigar at the same time, sometimes. If the cigar is really good, I wouldn't think of it, but if it's droning on and I get bored with it, but don't want to chuck it, I'll throw in a dip.

I did not know that cigarettes contained a significant difference in nicotine. Makes a little more sense now.

You shouldn't be so fearful of coffee shops; Starbucks isn't exactly the East India Company.

I believe he was smoking an LFD. I wasn't drinking Starbucks, just using their outdoor table in a nice courtyard with fountain :-)
