6.5" x 50

These days, I automatically shy away from anything that has 'fuerte' in the name. Just a dumb gimmick to me. But this specific cigar has been in and out of my regular rotation since they came out MANY years ago. 2007? 2008? Not sure. Back when I was a broke noob, I know that much. :-)

Like the original LHC toro I reviewed earlier, this specific cigar is available on C-Bid quite often. And cheap. Whenever I bid on these, 5 pack or box, I set my max bid at $3/stick and win every time. Retail is just over $4/stick. If they stopped offering these on C-Bid, I would pay retail without a second thought. For real.

And like the original LHC, I trip out at how this fantastic cigar flies under the radar of most serious cigar smokers. Ignoring the silly 'fuerte' in the name, these are a very good cigar (and not as fuerte as the name suggests).

The LHC Oscuro is 'strong', but barely. The nose exhale is intense but not harsh at all. Pretty typical Nicgaraguan maduro flavors here, despite the name. Coffee/cocoa/coconut. Nothing mind-blowing in that regard. Good burn with only a few small corrections. The 'fuerte' calms down quite a bit after the first 1/3.

I got distracted during the smoking of this cigar, so I'll just finish with this: like the original LHC, you cannot go wrong with these as an everyday stogie. I would probably put these in my top 10 overall cigars of all time. No joke. The price/value ratio of this stick is off the charts. :-)

One caveat with the LHCOF...they need humidor time. No cigar factory is gonna let several thousand $4 cigars take up space in the aging room. Common sense. So these need at least 6 months' rest in the humidor. A year or more is better.
