All Cigar Discussion>So it's getting cold out...where do you smoke?
hotreds 07:33 PM 11-17-2008
In my smoking room. I decided that my workout room had enough space for a chair, my humis, a TV and a radio/CD player. I put a humidifier in there, a fan backwards in the window, and all kindsa candles. When I smoke, I turn the fan on, once I'm done I burn a candle for a while. I also have one of those breeze machines that not only adds humidity to the room, but also helps with the aroma. Also use one of those Oust fans for actually helping with the odor.(I do have them in my humis as well.)

Really hard to tell that there's a cigar smoker in the house unless it's during or right after I smoke. And then, only if you walk by the room itself!

I spoke too soon, just put my coat on. :-)

My winter smoking is 1/10 that of summer. In Oregon its not too cold, but almost drizzling. I did not pay enough attention when I bought my condo and have no covered patio!!! DAMMMMM stupid mistake but I bought before I got serious about sticks. If the craving gets large, I can go into the garage, but I do not like it.

Last winter I smoked in my car. Brrrrrr. This spring I set up a corner of the basement with 2 bathroom fans hooked up to shoot the smoke outside. I used flexible hose on the discharge side of the fans and made a plywood panel with holes for the hoses that fits in the window. It looks really bad, but it works. No one uses the basement and after 1/2 an hour the area is clear. No more cold outside this winter.:-)

That's right. Only change around these parts is you don't need as much sunscreen in the winter to smoke outside :-)

You guys need to come visit Canada in the winter. :-) I'm in Toronto, which isn't a very cold city, and it dipped down to -12C (aka 10 degrees Fahrenheit) with the wind last night. Not fun to smoke in!

I've caved and I'm smoking indoors now. I personally don't like the cigar smell that's left in the room afterwards. So I open up a window, setup shop near that window, and face a small fan near me to ensure that the smoke floats outside. The room still smells of smoke afterwards, but it doesn't last until the next day. I'd go for no smoking in the winter, but reading / listening to a book just isn't the same without a good smoke. :-)

Garage, patio, or livingroom depends on what is going on, in the summer I smoke inside, winter is when we can smoke outside.

2 years ago we redid the covered patio area. Added a heater, 2 ceiling fans a flatscreen TV and outdoor furniture. Being in So Cal there aren't too many days that are too cold for a smoke outside but if it does get cold the heater works well.

I feel for you guys in cold areas, anything less that 50 degrees and I would not want to be outside having a smoke.

Just finished up a nice little Punch in the park next door at lunch. Beautiful sunny day but only about 40 degrees. My smoking will be mostly diminished this winter I am afraid. Maybe a few now and then on nice days.

I don't think I'd be able to smoke in the car. I don't see ever getting rid of that smell. Any time someone came into your car they'd have to deal with it. Hmmmmm. I'll have to find a place with a garage in VA I guess.
