I pretty much always drink my scotch neat...but this is an interesting device I saw awhile back. Along the idea of the whiskey stones, something to cool your drink while reducing the overall melt watering down your drink

I've used them, they do what they are supposed to which is cooling without diluting. they arent supposed to make the whiskey cold, cold kills flavor. Which is why, as an aside, Bud, Coors, etc tellyou to serve their beer ice cold, ROFL

Nothing like over-thinking a problem. Why not just chill the glass? :-)

Oh, there you go thinking again Darren. Didn't we tell you to cut that out already?

Knock it off already, would ya? Sheez. Do you want the guys holding tons of worthless fist sized rocks to have to go hungry or something? Nothing wrong with creating a product and then convincing everyone that there is a need. Plus, what else can they do with them now that the sales of pet rocks have floundered?

PS: 2 for the price of 1 sale on DVD-rewinders going on right now Wanna split?

It works for sh'....... er..... other sales. Why not for you?

I would take you up on it, but I have a bunch of DVDs I need to manually rewind today, old school style.

My friend has them and I have tried them with many whiskies. Fun the first few times but more of a novelty.

JW Gold is recommended by JW to be frozen if you want to enjoy a neat whiskey served real cold. Leave bottle in fridge for at least 24 hours.

Cold temps lower sugar and increase acidity.

Er... Where does the sugar and acid go? When it gets warmed up, do they reappear, and where do they come from? Do they have postcards and snapshots of people in black socks and sandals? Is this the same place as where the extra sock goes in the dryer black hole, or are you talking about perceived sweetness/acidity? :-)

Two cheaper options. That one runs about $200. And it looks like you need to start with a large chunk of ice.
MUJI Ice Maker
Spherical Ice Tray Set

Sorry Dude, I was a submariner (pronounced: submarine-er), so it's kind of a habit.

I don't really need a re-winder, my machine seems to do that automatically. :-)

That could wear the machine out, you know that right?

It's much better to get the external rewinder. I saw it on TV. They even showed some graphs and charts of how much longer your DVD player AND your DVDs will last if you have the external rewinder. They said it also preserves the fidelity & clarity of the background music in the title menu.

You sure about not wanting to split? Everyone should have one of these.

Yes, perceived sweetness/acidity. It should cool down aromatics as the alcohol is not as volatile in glass.
