Entertainment>What's the last Good Book you've read?
blugill 12:09 PM 11-21-2011
Since I purchased a Kindle for my wife last year and got myself one later on I've been reading far more than I used to.
The last really enjoyable book I read was Ready Player One by Ernie Cline.

It's about a game designer that hides an Easter Egg in his greatest game, The Oasis. The prize is his entire fortune if someone can get to it.

It'll appeal to anyone born in the seventies and grew up in the eighties!

I have yet to read Ready Player One but it is on my short list (which really has gotten long after getting a Nook Color for Father's Day).

You might look at Demon by Daniel Saurez.

I just picked up a little $8 Nintendo DS cartridge with 130 classics on it, so I'm reading a Study in Scarlet.

Yeah, I'm not sure why it is in General. I would think it should be in Entertainment as well.

Sherlock Holmes stories on the DS? That's awesome! I'll have to check it out.

Andy, all of the Holmes books are on there. There are a lot of great titles. I found it on the clearance rack at Target, but Amazon has them for a little more HERE. I picked the "game" up for my daughter, but after I searched for reviews I quickly opened it and have been reading Holmes since last night. I'm going to have to get her another copy.:-)

I’m reading EE Cummings Collection of Poems.

My favourite has to be:
In the middle of a room
stands a suicide
sniffing a paper rose
smiling to a self……

The last GOOD book I read was a present from my wife for Christmas. It was called Reading in the Dark by a man named Seamus Deane.

The Maryland Line by W. W. Goldborough.

It's the history of a Maryland Confederate unit that I actually reenact as, representative of about 1861 through not long after Gettysburg.

Goldsborough was one of our CO's during the Civil War.

I'm actiually reading it through Google books on my Droid.

Running on Empty by Marshal Ulrich. Amazing story of a man pushing himself beyond all physical limits. I highly recommend it, even for non-runners.
