All Cigar Discussion>How Do You Properly Season A Humidor?
DEZn00ts 11:23 AM 06-17-2018
My wife bought me one of those small 100 count humidors, I have no clue on how to season it. Thought I'd ask here first before googling a million and one ways to do it lol.

The very first post in that thread hits the nail right on the head.

I prefer salt, pepper and some garlic. But Tom has a good point.

A humidor full of cigars is more stable at keeping humidity; keep that mind.

Reminds me of the Daffy Duck where he's at the beach and the muscle bound duck steals away his girl and all he goes through to get her back. :-)

It'll all equal out before the full humidor dries out the cigars. Just fill the humidor and hydrometer and sit back. Some like to wipe the inside with a lightly damp cloth. I would say not to and just wait it out for the humidor to equalize with the cigars in them. Rushing humidity could cause beetles or mold.

Yah not a fan of wiping the wood, can cause it to warp and you won't get a really good seal.

I'll just let it sit there with a shot glass of water in it for a week or two, no biggie.

Make sure the room doesn't get too hot for extended periods.
