SO I have run THROUGH tendonitis over a 3 year period and my left foot Achilles has deteriorated to tendonosis. I get to wear this bad boy for 6-12 MONTHS. So freaking bummed.
Folks, if you get injured, do not be stupid. Get healed up. ugggghhhh....

Yeah, that's a bummer alright. I snapped my Achilles' tendon in 09 and it was a major surgery to reattach it. Anyhow I'm feeling you pain Bro. Having to wear that plastic and all. Do you have to wear it at night?
:-)

Thanks. He said I have idiot runners disease. It really is completely my own dumbass fault. I knew all along I should not be running on it.

This is to hopefully prevent surgery. That is the next option and I have heard it really really really.....really sucks.
Yes, I have to wear it as much as possible. It really is not that bad as it is custom molded for my foot and the foot bed is fairly flexible. Just awkward and hot as hell. I have to change my sock at least once a day.

I am sorry that you got all Fracked up. But remember at least your tendon didn't snap. I watched my dad struggle with that, really no fun.

Ouch, that sucks, Chip. Hope it's 6 months, and not 12.
Will this cure the tendinitis so you eventually will be able to run again without issue?

hopefully so. It is actually tendonosis which is lots of little stress tears from re-injury and running on an injury. It started as tendonitis, which is simply an inflammation due to overuse (rushed to train for a half marathon). Since it never healed completely, it started to deteriorate. My short term goal is to run 1 mile on new years day.

Why were you running? Someone chasing you?

Be thankful you didn't rupture your Achilles, that's one of the most gruesome sports injuries. I cringe every time I see an nfl player have that type of injury. Get well soon and heal it up.
