It's decent but unspectacular. It has a really nice caramel apple and pear nose. Unfortunately the nose is better than the taste. It's not bad, just a bit rough. It's a five year age statement; I'd like to try an eight year version when and if available to see how it improves.

Some great recommendations, Ben. :-)

Sorry it doesn't live up to its nose, James. :-)

At around $40, it's still worth a try. If they started asking premium prices, I'd skip it. As a side note, it was Batch 74 that I had.

Nice, Greg, hope you enjoy it. I haven't had that one, only Four Roses I've had have been the single barrel picks.

Thanks James! :-)

Two 107 proof bottle kills last night. Thanks to Black Carl for the excellent Rebel pick.

I got a cool set in trade today, I had never even seen one of these : "Booker's 2016 Batch Collection", which actually contains four 2015 batches in one giant Booker's box. Traded some nice stuff for it but came out way ahead, and yeah...Booker's is my jam.

Love the ECBP, haven't had a single one I didn't enjoy.

They're all good, just finished a B519 last night. So far A120 has been my favorite of the ones I've tried, but I'm hoping I can get a couple of the store picks when they start dropping, seems like most decent sized shops in CO got samples and made picks a couple weeks ago but who knows how that roll out will go

Reminded me I didn't get the bottle I picked up out of the car last night :-)

Also grabbed a bottle of the Templeton Rye 2020 barrel strength.

Oh, ECBP store picks? I can get behind that, Ben, hoping some local chains here do the same.

I must have seen at least 6 stores post about them getting samples and picking a barrel last month, some are also going to KY next month to pick a second in person. I'm really hoping that the quantity around will make them somewhat accessible, stores in other states have started dropping them to a wide range of ages, proofs and prices (I've seen as high as $130, and as high as 141 proof, up to 10 years)

Great info, thanks for the insight Ben.

141 proof? Yes please. :-)

Hmmm, wonder what secondary would be for something like that?

First one will probably be 200+, then people will see that a lot of stores are getting them and it will drop down

That being said, I heard an unconfirmed story that HH will be letting certain groups (likely associated with charitable donations) pick 12 year barrels, those will be all sorts of secondary expensive if true, but I think in general the 12 year barrels will go to regular ECBP releases for as long as they're still age stated
