General Discussion>Signed the contract on the new house!!
Bax 05:51 PM 01-31-2011
I've made the plunge and signed the paperwork to have a new house built. It's been a wild ride moving my family from Maryland to Georgia but this should be the last piece of the puzzle. It's on an acre and includes a 12x16 screened in smoking porch!!!:-) Might be a North Georgia Herf in the near future!!!!

Nice! Congrats on the new purchase. Just do yourself a favor and get yourself your own home inspector and be sure to do inspections at all stages of construction.:-) If the builder won't allow it fight them tooth and nail over it.

Nice looking house, congrats!

If I can ask, what part of N. Ga? My dad has a place up in Rabun County that I visit and fish as often as I can.

If this does become a concern PM me, I have a few inspectors I recommend. I am IRC certified but I would recommend guys with more inspection experience as I was just one of those evil builder types :-)

I've got 2 constuction buddies that will not only be keeping an eye on it, but they're also sub-ing on the job (Insulation and Electric). But I still might have an independant come look at it. I got screwed on a septic system pipe that wasn't burried deep enough on the last house I built. It also doesn't hurt that the contractor is my new neighbor:-)

We'll be in Ringgold, just south of Chattanooga.
