The Vegas one is pretty impressive. Looks about the same size as Chicago. They lack a few brands or models, but they have something for a Sultan's budget that's for sure.

Its about same size, if not smaller, than the original shop on Madison in NYC. The new one they moved to a number of years back is much larger. Great selection, but like you said, one needs a Sultan's budget and a complete disregard for actual discounted prices these watches can be had at.

Exactly, many times a watch can be had for 20-25% off of what it lists for, sometimes as much as 30%.

I just got a new watch in, and I have a sizing question. Right now it's a bit too loose, but if I remove one of the links it's way too tight and uncomfortable, so I'm stuck in the middle. Is there anything that can be done about this aside from having someone make a custom link (too much $)?

Does anything exist, maybe a thin round pad of some sort, that could be applied to say the back of the watch to help with the fitment?

What about the buckle? is there a pinset with holes? If so you could move that up or back to adjust as well.

You're right, didn't notice that. That would give me a few MM's tighter which might help.

Edit: That helped a little bit, but could still use it slightly tighter.

Some brands have half links which are used for this purpose.

pics would help, sometimes there are micro adjustments in the clasp (but I think you found those already)...

on the watches I have the 4, 5 or 6 micro adjustments = 1 link span, so its easy to get an exact fit.

You can only adjust what the watch has available. Higher end watches it's only the links that adjust. Regular watches have some adjustment in the clasp.

Wear it loose, you'll get use to it. Many people think a watch is too loose initially and then are fine with the fit. The only other solution is to buy a strap and swap the bracelet...

What can you all tell me about Longines? Why are they so cheap? Are they a quality watch?

"cheap" being relative :-)

but yes Longines is a quality watch (which you can spend plenty on if you'd like)

it just lacks name recognition

watchtalkforums.info/forums is a good place to read up on some of these

I'm a big fan of the hydroconquest and the admiral lines

e-man told me about a Longines. I don't remember what model it was, just that it had a blue face which I liked. I just never heard of the name before. Well, I don't know anything about watches, the only watch brands I know of are (Rolex, Relic, Fossil, and Timex)

That is a loaded question. Is a Ford cheap? Certainly the Escort is, but Ford GT is not.

Longines is the same level as TAG, Omega, Breitling, Baume Mercier... 800k+ a year manufacturer. When I say at the same level, I mean you are getting a similar watch at what ever price point you want pay.

A 2K Longines will be on part with a 2K Omega in terms of finishing and complications.

Longines name I think has suffered some with lower end products on the market. They should drop them like Omega did. I really dig Longines Charles Lindbergh line. Very classic and understated. A watch you won't get sick of too fast.

I like it. It's classic looking without "I want to look like a Rolex" queues. Dark blue and stainless is good combo. No bubble window for date of trident star hour hand.

Is that good to not have a bubble window?

It's a style preference more than anything.
