General Discussion>How fast do you drive

Just curious to see if I am the only one or I have just been lucky enough to be stuck behind slow @ss people lately and by lately I mean a few months or maybe I just have not adjusted to a slower lifestyle as I would be curious to hear your opinions and see if it varies by region.

Depends on location. When I am traveling in South Texas, I commonly do 90 or so. There are very few cops--only border patrol. I am white in a company car, so I do not get bothered. Around town in S.A---at or below the speed limit because cops here are crazy.

I fit into the 5-10 over most often but it seems lately I am always stuck behind the people perfectly comfortable doing at least 5-10 Under. It's kind of strange how often it happens lately. So I figured I would see what my fellow inmates do.

I do about 30k a year and around here it is either bumper-to-bumper or you are doing 75 and getting passed by minivans full of kids.

I just did front brakes pads that I had previously done in June of 2009

I drive it like I stole it. But I drive a Merc Sprinter. So, driving it like I stole it generally means like any other White Van Man in the UK :-)

Having driven Boston-Worcester-Boston earlier this year, I can attest to the crazy mom-in-minivan happenings in the general Boston area.

Slow and in the middle lane...I'm no crazy speed demon on the road.

I usually keep it about 5 over the posted limits on highways and major thoroughfares but usually drive slower then posted in residential areas because I don't want to hit a kid.

5-10 over the posted. We now have the radar machines on the side of the road that show your speed when you pass. I am going to see how fast I can pass it. :-)

With the user name Mugen would have thought for sure you would have been in the "I drive it like I stole it category.:-)

That drives me insane!! :-) I don't mind if people drive under the speed limit, just don't do it in the fast lane when there's open road in front of you!!

The name has nothing to do with cars...I drive a Volvo.

On the interstate, I'll go 8-12 mph over...depends how the flow of traffic is going.

Around town on the rural roads of South Jersey, I go pretty much the speed limit. They're generally pretty reasonable.

Depends on where I am driving. On the interstates or 4 lane divided roads - 5 to 20 over and maybe even a tad more. In residential areas - right at the posted speed limit with no more than 1 or 2 over.

I'm the same way in residential areas. I probably should have specified main thoroughfares as I get pissed when I see people speeding through the neighborhood. Most of my neighbors probably think I am insane because when I see people speeding through the subdivision I am usually the one walking down to their house to give them an @ss chewing. We have way to many young kids in our neighborhood who run into the street without even thinking to look before stepping out so I know it's only a matter of time before one gets tagged. It's not fun trying to pull a kid out from the undercarriage of a car. Had to do it once when in the fire service back in NY and don't look forward to ever having to do it again.

The general pace of the cars around me has a big part to play in my speed. I never want to be the fastest or the slowest... middle of the pack. 5-10 above is usually key on the back roads, maybe 5 above the speed limit on highways.
