I really want to see this movie. I tend to love similar movies and have very high hopes. I plan on seeing it sometime this week!

Anyone else looking forward to it?

I likely won't go see it - heck, what with a small popcorn and soda, I'd spend $20 to take myself out for a date? Not gonna happen. But I think this has promise to be a good flick, so will certainly pick up a pre-viewed DVD at Blockbuster for 5 bucks in a year or so. Depp has come a long way from Jump Street.

I've always enjoyed hearing about John Dillinger's exploits, read lots about him and other bank robbers of the era.....I will definitely see this one.

Something I read, not too long ago, was that Dillinger tried to put out a bounty on Bonnie and Clyde. He was reportedly disgusted by their thrill-kill ways and penchant for knocking over gas stations and grocery stores, and made a statement to the effect of "those two give honest bank robbers a bad name"!

I want to see this movie too. I've always like movies about all those bank robbers back in the days.

If anything I will see it during the matinee shows for about 4-5 bucks or maybe at the cheap movie theatres (after a month or so at the full price movies) for about 1.50-2 bucks

This is one movie I seriously want to see...if only because I was involved in the Chicago filming and I want to see if I appeared anywhere!

Oh, and anything with Thompson SMGs and Browning Automatic Rifles in it is worth seeing! :-)

This would be one movie I may actually go to a theater to see. (Last one was the original Beverly Hills Cop).
Some of the filming was done around this neck of the woods and Depp stayed in a hotel 40 miles south of us.

My old bass player was playing in a bar about that time and the entourage stopped in and checked them out. At closing time, they asked the band to stay and play another hour and they got to meet the crew after.

I'm checking it out in a couple of hours, I've been really looking forward to it and it has a 9.1 rating on IMDB which says a lot.

I could tell it was stylized quite a bit (this is a Michael Mann work after all), but on the whole I thought it was great.

Outside of all the one-handed "stunt shooting" with machine guns (that in real life weigh 15-20 pounds), the biggest issue I had was with Baby Face Nelson. But I won't go into it since most here haven't seen it yet.

At the theater I went to (1927-vintage), a large group of mostly young people showed up in period attire. Some of them clearly went to great lengths to look right. That really made the evening!

I want to see it, but the trailers have let me down. I think the movie might be the same way. So...I'll sit on the sideline until I hear more.

One more thing..when he lights his cigar (you'll know the scene), what kind of stick is it? From what little I could see of the band it looked like a Hoyo de Monterrey corona or lonsdale. And I notice someone used a punch on it instead of a cutter. :-)

I think today might be the day I see it. I will report back :-)
