I was in my B&M yesterday picking up a "starter" humidor as a gift for my stepfather. I always like to pick up two or three sticks while there just to support the local business. They had some VSGs for what seemed a decent price for a B&M. I've never had one, have heard good things, so splurged on one. Now it's sitting in my humidor...calling to me. I like to let my new purchases sit in the humi for a few weeks, but I can hear it..."smoke me. Smoke me now" it's saying.

Should have bought 2, one for today one for later. Go ahead and fire it up, if you like it get more. To me the VSG is one of those cigars that doesn't get better with age. YMMV

If it came from decent B&M, smoke it. No need for it to sit. Different story coming from a big-box internet retailer where the sticks are often shipped wet and then subjected to varying conditions in transit.

Coincidentally, I had a VSG last night. Not sure of size - RG between rob and corona - maybe 5 inches and change. Anyway, it was very good - perfect construction until last 2 inches where it got pretty wonky. Flavors good, but a little muted. I think all those I had in the past were smaller RG - I'll seek out others, but only in the PC, corona, lancero - type sizes.

Love the VSG's. IMO most B&M's keep their stuff more humid than I prefer. I agree with letting it sit for a week or 2.

Definitely a solid smoke. Personally, I wasn't blown off my feet considering all the hype, but it was an enjoyable cigar nonetheless. I'll have to try another at some point to be sure though!

Oh, the peer pressure!!! :-)

I decided to save it for the weekend. The VSG, some good whiskey, the patio and I have a date.

I have skipped over these several times at the B&M only to wonder if I should have picked one up. Guess I should grab one when I go restock.
