Accessory Discussion / Reviews>My first humidor was ....
Ashcan Bill 01:59 PM 11-30-2014
My first humidor dates from the early nineties. It was my only cigar storage for a dozen or so years. Then one day I found the old jungle and things went downhill fast. :-)

Now it sits on my desk next to the monitor, and serves as my death row humidor. Lots of cigars have cycled through it in the last twenty some years.

My first humidor was both unseasoned and empty. Neither condition lasted long.

My first was tupperware for which I proudly made a humidifier out of florist foam and PG.

Alaong the way, I bought a beautiful handmade and painted wooden humidor at an art fair. It warped and became useless (except for storing socks).

These days, I have 2 coolidors and one of those cheap Savoy dors. It has a key with a little tassel and I like it.

I got into cigars this summer just before vacation and knowing my love of vampire lore my husband surprised me with a Tatuaje monsters coffin travel humidor. At that time there were also a few Tatuaje Pudgy Dracs hanging out inside. Needless to say I was a happy girl. :-)

My advice...go bigger...WAY bigger if you are serious about this hobby. I was trying to maintain three desktop humidors and a cigar caddy before switching to a cabinet. :-) "They" told me I'd need three times the size I thought and I didn't believe "them"! Boy was I wrong :-)

A cheepy glass top 50 ct I picked up from CI about 5 years or so ago. Still use it today as storage for aging cigars. After 5 years it has taken on a wonderful aroma, sitting in my bottom drawer of my home desk surrounded by cigar memorablia like stickers and tubes.

My first was a Montecristo box. It was white. It held humidity rock solid. I think it fit the whole brown bag sampler perfectly if I recall
