Yes it is!!!

Don't buy another drop of anything, until you can afford a bottle of Highland Park 18yo! It's not cheap, at between $85 & $95, but you'll be happy you did!!!

IMO there is no other scotch than can touch the HP 18 at that price point. It is expensive but very much worth every penny. Try it. You won't be disappointed!!!

Glenmorangie Port Wood Finished is at or near the top of my list, Oban 18 yo. is a fine scotch and another near the top of my list, but the two can't be compared.

If you get the chance, try the 17yr old sherry cask, it's dynamite. Better than the 21yr Port wood IMHO.

I really like Obans. I had the pleasure of tasting a 100 year bottle. It was amazing.
My girlfriend just bought me a Macallan Fine Oak 15 year bottle for my birthday. I really like Macallans. It is a very nice beverage.

I always hated Scotch until a friend at work got me a bottle of Glenfiddich 12. I loved it. Lots to try here, thanks to all for the recommendations!

Dalmore cigar malt is awesome. And less than 40 bucks a bottle.

I'm a caveman; Dewars on the rocks with a splash of water for me, unless you're buying, then I'll take a Johnnie Walker Blue please.:-)

I'm drinking a couple fingers of Tomatin 12 y/o Scotch SM, in a white coffee mug. It's not my favorite, which which would be Highland Park 18 y/o, but I think Tomatin is a nice fruity whisky for everyday drinking.

Too new to the scotch world to really have acquired a taste for it. I've tried some of the different types though. Lagavulin was too peaty/smoky for me, but I didn't think it was terrible. I've also had some of the Dalmore which I didn't think was bad. I'm watching this thread though, and I'll figure out some of the other brands I should try while just starting out. Probably should find something a little sweeter, or something like that. I'll let you guys know if I find anything once I can get back to drinking. Being at tech school in the Air Force has limited my freedoms. That's ok though, I should be able to hit up the bars here on Monday :-)

There is a store by me called Bayway and they buy the cask from the distiller and private label it. Right now they are selling their HP 23 for $79 per bottle. It is unbelievable!!

I really enjoyed the 15y/o Highland Park. I also really enjoy the old standby, Glennfiddich, can't go wrong with the old standby

I have a bottle of HP by Murray McDavid, aged 16 years in sherry and port. It's very nice.

I'd like to try the one you are talking about.

Sigh...so much scotch, so little time (and money :-)).

Lagavulin 16
The Glenlivet 18
The Macallan 15 Oak

Here's a site that may be worth reading through:
