Everybody else has one of these so why not?
Game 2 starts today. We lost on opening day, but didn't look bad. Pitching looked great, but offense was lacking (but we were facing Santana and he makes a lot of offenses look bad). Lot of young talent this year. I'm not sold on 'em yet, but I beleive that we're looking at an above .500 team this year. I predict we finish a close second behind the Cubbies.
Thoughts?

If the over/under on wins is 80, I am going under. They still haven't shown much of anything for the offensive end. Still don't like the rotation, especially after the first 3 and I think their middle relief is terrible (see: Weathers). I understand the first game it was Santana, but they couldn't do anything. :-)

If by Champs you mean not last place, then I will concur. :-)

I'll be happy if we get second in the Central. That would at least mean progress has been made. Maybe Jocketty and Baker do have a plan.

I do agree that Baker probably has a hell of a plan, the problem is they have a crap farm system and they burn out their young arms. Their middle relief still looks shaky as doo-doo to me. They traded away some of their best offensive weapons (Dunn, Griffey, Hamilton) and replaced them with guys who strike out even more and young guys. I hope they can do something, but even 80 wins will be an improvement. 4th or 3rd in the Central seems like a reasonable goal, but I don't think they have the team to beat the Cubs or Cardinals to make it to 2nd. I want them to win games and give people around here something to cheer about because the Bengals seem to be going in the wrong direction, which is hard to do. :-)

After listening to ESPN talk radio the last few weeks I'm optimistic for the first time in a long time. Think the Reds might be pretty good this year. Haven't been to a Reds game since the mid 90's. Go Reds!!!:-)

Well, get your arse down to Cincy. We could organize a HERF and then go to a Reds game :-)

Volquez just worked his way into a fix. Error by A-Gon didn't help him out either.

Wow, good middle relief pitching there. This is going to be one of the many problems they are going to have :-)

0-2. At least the team didn't give up like I saw them do numerous times in past years.

+1. I like they way they look. If freaking Alex Gonzalez wouldn't have blown the DP back in the earlier inning (4th?) it might have been a different outcome.

A-Gon needs to be long-gon. Someone please tell me why we got rid of Keppinger? He's about to make us look foolish like Hamilton did.
