Yeah - I haven't seen any with an outright bad review. I've just gotten into reading in the last few months and the sci fi genre is fantastic to me. He and Isaac Asimov are the 2 that i see referenced the most as "this person really influenced me". Seems like they are good ones to dive in to :-)

I'm currently alternating between Lee Child's Jack Reacher novels and Ian Rankin's John Rebus novels. Both have been very good so far.

One word of caution...Lee Child's website has some sort of problem with it (virus?). If interested, look at wiki or something similar.

I Like the Jesse Stone TV movies so I got the first book 'Night Passage' by Robert Parker. 100 or so pages into it and it's great so far. Hopefully it'll be good reading on the beach Friday

Heard good things about Lee Child. Definitely on my list to try.

For a comprehensive list of fiction authors and their books, check out Fantastic Fiction. I use it constantly.

Another good resource is NPR's top 100 sci fi and fantasy book list.

There's also an image version that is very nice - it is a flow chart. I love flow charts :-)

You mentioning him made me remember. Looked him up - sure enough he's published another short story called "The Plagiarist". Very cool book - interesting concept.

Wool was a great set to read.
