On a sports note, Bruce and Stubbs have both moved into the top 10 in strikeouts
:-)

Yeah, by the end of the season they could end up one-two in the standings. They finished in the top 25 last season and wanted to start where they left off.
:-)
I'm still offering the bet about Stubbs not batting over .330 if you think he is going to turn it around. Heck, I'll even lower it to .320 just for you.

Nah. I like Stubbs though for his speed.

Always nice to have a leadoff hitter with speed that can't get on base. He can't steal bases from the dugout.

He is 65th in the NL in OBP% It will improve throughout the year.

Yep. I read an article somewhere saying that Bruce could be the very next Adam Dunn (but can play defense). Power hitter that isn't selective and strikes out WAY too often.

Are you high? His on base percentage lands him at 140th in the NL, 224th in all of MLB. Excellent for a lead off hitter.
:-)
Or did you mean On base plus slugging? Where he is still not in the top 100.

That is my thought, although the Reds announcers would lead you to believe that he will be challenging for the HR crown and Joey Votto's MVP award. They had a poll question the other night on who would be the best hitter on the Reds the other night and both announcers said that Jay Bruce would be a better hitter than Joy Votto this year. Luckily most fans were smarter than the announcers as they picked Joey Votto by about a 50% margin.
