Al-Qaeda is an idea, not a structured organisation so in operational terms I doubt his death will have much of an effect
He was only what, 54? And beyond what anyone may think of the impact on Al Queda, killing Bin Laden is justice served...

the impact this will have on terror attacks will be a negative for us, there will be more attacks now that we've killed him. Will al queda fold, no. will there be more recruits, yes. would this have been the case had we not killed him, more or less. does it feel good that this sum ***** is dead, you bet your ****ing ass it does.
I've had a few non-us citizens ask about why this is such a big deal...and it's a bit like rock and roll...if I have to explain it to you then you won't understand.

I know a couple of green beanies who are disappointed that Navy was chosen and they weren't invited to the party.
I keep telling them that they've been retired too long.

When they say "SEALs" the most likely mean a Task Force. There were probably CAG and JTACs there as well as CIA shooters. We will most likely not know the makeup of the team or the shooter for a long time.

Someone on another forum did post up a pic. Dunno if it's real though.
Should I post it here?
EDIT: actually, I believe it's a fake. I just did a google image search for "bin laden death" and looks like it's extremely easy to fabricate a photo like that. I will wait to see an official photo.

If it's the pic that's been making the rounds on the internet, it's a proven fake. As far as I know the real pics haven't been released yet due to concerns about how gory they are.

The good news also is that after the movie comes out. Every high school kid in the land is going to want to be a Navy SEAL!

You didn't know that he was the one with tiger blood that killed him? That is why they canceled two and a half men for a couple months. So he could get debriefed on the situation and go in for the kill.

Sample......
Aside from the complimentary dialysis machine use, easy underground access to Pakistan’s beautiful vast cave system, and free toaster waffles, it’s a pretty big dump. The food wasn’t organic, the wifi was spotty at best, absolutely no cell coverage, (yelp reviews were so wrong on that one) and no one spoke English. To make it worse, the country’s best basketball player, some 6’7″ dude with a turban, gets shot our first night there. And the coffee was cold. We’re so not coming back.

I've got nothing against Mendenhall. He all but made sure that the Packers won the Super Bowl back in February.
