Big Buff made 1st star this week.
Not sure what Paul Maurice is feeding him, but he's on monstrous form

Love me some Dustin Byfuglein. The celebration after his goal in Vancouver in the 2010 playoffs is probably my favorite ever.

Ahhhh, the old rivalry that seems to be dead and gone now
:-) don't forget that Roy is behind the bench
:-)
Looks like I will track down a couple of tickets and hopefully it won't be too cold then
:-)
Avs without Erik Johnson for 2M's.....and that's a wrap....

I think they got it right.

After spending the last 5 games trying not to make the playoffs, the Jets downed the Avs tonight. The arena was hopping, although most of the goals were on the other side of the ice from my seats.
The Sheifele-Perault-Trouba goal in the third was a thing of beauty though.
Give credit to Patrick Roy for never giving up - he ran an empty net for nearly 5 minutes. Gutsy!

Perrault got me 3 fantasy points and Wheeler 1, so I was happy for them. Easier to be happy for them after the Hawks downed the St. Louis Blews.

So Chevy made his first really significant trade in 3 years. Poor Buffalo compound their problems and inherit Kane for their troubles. (This ain't no Patrick Kane either). Sad to see Bogosian go, he was popular in the community.
Myers and Stafford look like decent journeymen to pick up for a playoff push. We'll see how they look tonight.
Everyone in the 'Peg is holding their breath....
icehog3 03:15 PM 02-12-2015
If Kane can turn his sh!t around, Buffalo wins this deal in my eyes. While Myers is a good skater with decent hands, he is soft. Built like Chara, plays like Charo.
Stafford had one good season in his career, he's a adequate third liner at best.
That being said, Winnipeg still has some great talent up front and on D, if the goaltending could stay consistent, they might make a dent in the playoffs.

Liking the "Minnesotta mafia" on our team: Drew Stafford joins Blake Wheeler, Dustin Byfuglien and Mark Stuart.
Welcome to the 'Peg Drew. It's only slightly colder than home.....

Actually liked both Myers and Stafford's first game with the Jets, Neil. Be curious to see how they do as the season progresses.

We were robbed - Pekke Rinne is one heck of a goalie. I predict Preds go far if he stays healthy.
icehog3 10:26 AM 02-14-2015
Yup, the Preds are for real. Lack of going deep in the playoffs previously is their only disadvantage this year.
Shawn Mattias scored his first career hat trick last night against Rask in Vancouver. The TV showed them carrying a basket of hats off the ice....and on top was a Bruins 2011 Champs hat....too funny.
nutcracker 06:48 AM 02-15-2015
The boys played their hearts out against the wings to come from behind.
Stafford puts in the winning penalty and gets to wear the silly hat in the dressing room.
The town is extatic. Bye-bye Evander, have fun.....

Blackhawks V, Penguins this morning.
Suck it, Crosby!

Crawford was hot today. Couple of incredible saves.
icehog3 06:13 PM 02-15-2015
Both goalies were great until the shootout. Luckily Crawford was one better.
:-)
Now hoping the Panthers will come back and beat the Blews.
