Some more ebay buys.
4 Yello Bole-Three are new never smoked, the bamboo shank one has been smoked some. The finish on 3 of them is bad, looks like age or sun damage. I'm going to buff off the old finish, and then buff on a new carnuba wax finish.

Make sure you post pictures after you get them all dolled up.
I just won an auction on a yello-bole myself. Pictures will follow but I'm excited. I just know I won't be allowed to smoke in public when I'm with the finacee.

I stopped by Holts again today. The same guy that helped me out on Saturday was there again, very knowledgeable guy. I said I was looking for something a little more flavorful but non-aromatic so he recommened the GL Pease Union Sqaure.

I smoked a bowl of it tonight, pretty good.
I also rolled the dice on an "ebay" pipe (around $8 shipped). It came today and looked even better in person. I spent some time tonight cleaning it up, salt + vodka treatment in the bowl, and used a stem cleaner and briar polish that the guy at Holt's suggested. I think it looks pretty good. It's extremely light, hopefully tomorrow I'll get to see how it smokes.

The Chesterfield's were pretty much copies of Peterson System pipes, that one looks like it has a copy of the P-lip stem too.

The Yello Bole looks very nice Jeff. Looks as if you could stuff a bit of tobaccy in that bowl and enjoy:-)

I've been looking at the Peterson System pipes and have wanted to try one. Hopefully this Yello-Bole smokes like the Peterson so I will get an idea of what they are like.

RE: The slope. Would you pros consider this full on free fall yet?

Hilson "Fantasia" 91.
Looks really beautiful in person and so far my most expensive pipe (excepting my first pipe that I gave to my FIL).

I just got in the mail this vintage Wally Frank. Now this is what I call A Man's Pipe. The pot shaped bowl on this thing is huge. I can fit my gorilla thumb down inside the bowl, just past the knuckle, and there is even room to wiggle it around in there. For having a rounded bottom this thing sits like a champ, you can even set it down at a 45* angle and it still uprights it's self.

Very nice, I like the Pot shape. I have a Silver Spigot that should be here today, I will post pics tonight if it arrives.

Here is my new Peterson. I had my eye on this baby for a while and then I just couldn't wait any more.

That's a big honking pot pipe you have there CQ. Appears to be your "all-day" pipe. The Peterson Silver Spigot is a nice looker Grant.
I just won the following on *Bay this afternoon. I'll post some real photo's of it upon arrival:

Its a vintage Kaywoodie Oversize from the 40's - 50's. Measures approximately 6.125"L x 2.25"H with a 7/8" bore. The rim measures 1 5/8” across and 1 7/8’ front to back. Looking forward to its arrival now:-)

It was on sale.
:-) I thought I could use some "knocking around" tobacco and the reviews were pretty decent.

The pipe is Whitehall Thermofilter.

I saw some of that tobacco at a B&M the other day. Never heard of it (which doesn't mean anything), it was just the first time ever noticing this brand...

The Sutliff blends is actually blended by Altidas, which would normally make me turn and run, but they are supposed to be matches of classic blends from House of Windsor. I have a tin of Maple Street that I picked up at my local B&M, I don't know how it compares to Mapleton, but it is a good smoke in it's own right.

I have one of the big "blend No. 5". Its a simple straight forward English Oriental that isn't bad at all. I had a pouch of "Great Outdoors" that I smoked a bowl from before gifting it away. All I can remember about that blend was it smelled like Root Beer.

I did read that, the Great Outdoors is a copy of "Field and Stream". I am in no position to confirm or dis-confirm that though.

Grabed a tin of Peterson University Flake and a couple ounces of another Holt's house blend, Three Of Spades. Trying to branch out from the straight English blends...

Picked up a few tins. Orlik Golden Sliced x2 and Balkan Sasieni x2. Since the budget has been rough I also added 3 bulk blends to give a shot. Bayou Morning, Star of the East, and Epiphany. All 3 from C&D Hoping they are good and I can pick up some bulk tobacco. At ~26 a pound I need to venture onto this route. Been smoking mucho tins!
