How can Nick Green pitch two scoreless innings but not be able to throw consistently from short to first? Ahh well, the mysteries of baseball.
I've got tickets to Saturday's game vs, the
Blue Jays, hope the weather gurus are wrong about the impact of trop storm Danny and we don't get rained out.

Nice weekend with a sweep of the Jays.
Paul Byrd comes out of retirement to pitch six innings of shutout ball, Billy Wagner in his first appearance in Boston strikes out the side, to help secure the shutout
:-)
Sox have a chance to put a dent in the Rays wild card chances starting tomorrow
:-)

The trop has been really tough for us this year. Hope Beckett can get off his ass and start pitching again...

Lester came through in game one vs the
Rays, but once again Okajima almost blew it. I don't know what's wrong with him lately, (he did the same thing vs
Toronto Saturday night), but I sure hope he gets back to where he was earlier in the season.
On a positive note, a good showing by Billy Wagner. Nice to see one of Theo's reclaimation projects actually working out.
Isn't Jacoby Ellsbury fun to watch ... how come he doesn't have a good nickname?

Keep the faith, he'll be OK. All pitchers have rocky periods, we just have to hope he is over his for the year.

Hey, at least Wagner seems to be working out in more ways than one. He's been very good in the innings he's pitched, and Papelbon seems to be stepping up his game, given the new competition.

And both Penny and Smoltz pitched great games their last time out too.
Oh, wait a second - that wasn't for the Sox, was it?

Tough series in
Chicago. It will be good to get back to friendly Fenway.

Back in Fenway, we score 10 runs and Bucholtz is lights out. Why can't we play all our games here?

Nice to see the bats come alive last night, and Clay pitched a great game.
I like our chances if get into the playoffs, this team will be very tough to beat.

As nice as last night's blowout was to see, it was against the Orioles, in September. Not really anything to write home about. Byrd going tonight - hope he doesn't f*&k this one up.
