JDN Antano Robusto Very tasty smoke, well constructed, burned a little uneven and needed a correction, had a perfect draw.
SP Extra Fuerte Cordoba Very tasty as usual, well constructed, burned even and had a nice draw.

Illusione MJ12 in a silver foil, was underwhelmed until the last 1/3.

i had the same experience with the mj12. and i'm a fiend for illusiones.
the only rp i was ever impressed by was the edge sumatra.
and i'm not buyin that the rennaisance is the same cigar.

Yep, all these boutique brands are growing tiresome on my expectations and wallet. Everyone has an edgey new look and wants to jack up the prices of their cigars because they have taken new marketing avenues to appeal to a different crowd... But they should focus more on making a good cigar first, establishing a record of consistent cigars... and then build the brand (i know, gurkha, call the kettle black).
Point #2, the edge sumatra is my favorite RP, followed by the Decade, and then the Edge maduro, everything else he makes "humps".. i cannot stand the 1990 and 1992... they are just very dissatisfying smokes.
Some people swear by the Renniasance.... I'll hold my breath until i try one for free. I'm not spending that kind of loot on an RP especially since i had bad luck in the past, all his spring blends and seasonal **** should be left to the coffee industry...

it seems, as far as the mj12 is concerned, that what we are saying would mean the cigar IS consistent. illusiones are consistent, tasty and well marketed. and I consider them a value.
gurkha? really?
again. edge sumatra only.
the rennaisance doesn't even look like the es. it may be the same recipe, but by no means is it the same quality of ingredients.
seansonal blends=shite

Mj12 was too expensive for what it was, i think i payed 10.50 at a B&M... I would pay in the 7.50 range for them, but not double digits.
Again, sumatra is sweet
Summation of RP, "a few good men"
Gurkha... for life.

I noted 2 several posts prior, and I only smoke Gurkhas in the Punishment-Puff-Pass at the Shack, just so I know how bad they are.
